John S. Rowland
John began working at CRB Insurance Agency the summer of his junior year at university. After graduating from Lawrence University (Appleton, WI) in 1979 with an anthropology degree he began working full time for CRB Insurance Agency. He started in personal insurance sales. In 1980 John became one of the first participants in the Commercial Union Insurance Companies POP (Producer Offspring Program). He spent 18 months in Boston MA helping to refine this program that was then opened up to all of their branch offices across the county. When John returned to CRB he moved to commercial insurance and life insurance sales. Several years later John was tasked with managing a bank joint venture insurance agency. He built Heritage / CRB Insurance agency from the ground up. Heritage Bank (renamed Johnson Bank) later decided to own and control it's agency operation and CRB Insurance Agency elected to remain independent. John served in a number of management roles within the agency over the years and was named President in 1994.
John has obtained is CPCU (Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter) designation in 1987 and the CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation in 1989. He was awarded the CRM (Certified Risk Manager) designation in 2005.
John has served in numerous volunteer capacities in the Racine area and in the church. John is currently serving on the Board of Trustees of the Prairie School, and is very active in the local soccer community. He is past president of Racine Area Soccer Association (RASA), a State Level D licensed Soccer Coach, a soccer referee, as well as an associate referee instructor and still plays occasional goal keeper. John is also an avid photographer, racquet sport play (with platform tennis being his favorite), scuba diver, skier (xc and downhill) as well as spending time on one of his several bicycles.
